How to be Good?
Taking Time to Celebrate!
Show Notes Transcript

For our bitesize edition this month, we’re taking a few moments to celebrate!

Not only was our most recent interview with Humanist Jane Blackman all about the joy of celebration, but we also found out earlier this month that this podcast has made it to the finals of the International People's Choice podcast awards.

As today is International Podcast Day, and the People’s Choice Podcast award ceremony is this evening, we’re taking a moment to celebrate. And we’re celebrating each one of our listeners. We’re so grateful for all of you listening. We’re in the award finals because of you.

It’s not an easy time to celebrate, with so much bad news across the globe – so let’s keep it small for now. For our “How to be Good” challenge this time, we want you to spend 60-seconds of your day today having a mini-celebration, just by yourself.

Today is International Podcast Day – with the People’s Choice Podcast award ceremony this evening - so, here at How to be Good?, we’re celebrating. And we’re celebrating each one of you– we’re so grateful for all of you listening – we’re in the finals because of you.

Now, it’s not an easy time to celebrate – with so much bad news across the globe – so let’s keep it small for now.

For our “How to be Good” challenge this time, we want you to spend 60-seconds of your day today having a mini-celebration, just by yourself.

Choose one thing in your day, or week, or month, or year that gives you a reason to celebrate. It can be large, like a new baby in the family or a new home or it can be something smaller but just as worthy of celebration: a good nights sleep or a smile from someone you care about. Give yourself 60 seconds and let the feeling of celebration wash over you

Jane Blackman, Humanist Celebrant
“And it's a chance to celebrate and have a wonderful time.”

Sarah Buckmaster
Let’s do this not only because it feels good to celebrate, but also because whatever we focus on becomes our reality, so let’s make that celebratory feeling our reality for some of our time this month. Celebration feels good!

Sarah Buckmaster

As always, let me know how you get on,

And, thank you again for your support, and for getting us to the finals of the People’s Choice Podcast Awards.

I have loved setting up this podcast and I feel really lucky to have interviewed the people I have so far. I couldn't have done it without those of you who listen, those of you who have shared with your friends, and those of you who get in touch and provide feedback and just generally support me and the podcast and the incredible guests I get to speak with as part of this.

Thank you a million times. Please continue listening, continue sharing where you can. And if you have any questions or suggestions, email me at any time, it's Sarah@howtobegood.co.uk. And as always, I love hearing from you. Fingers crossed for tonight's podcast award ceremony.

Thank you, and goodbye for now
